It all began in 1993 when we started as a ski accessory mail order catalog named Sno-ski. The offices and storage facilities were located in the basement and garage of the owners home. In 1995 we started our first web site which was called Sno-ski.com. Our web site offered the same products that were in our catalog. In the first year, our on-line sales out sold our catalog sales so the catalogs were discontinued at the end of 1996. From 1997-1999, we expanded our product selection to include snowboarding and other winter accessories.
In 2000, we changed our name to Alpine Accessories which reflected the products we offered. In 2003, we opened the first ski and snowboard accessory store. We offered no equipment or clothing at this time. But many of our customers visiting our store requested equipment, clothing, service and rentals. So in 2005 we moved into a larger store and our current location. We also increased our product selection to include equipment, apparel, service and rentals. With ski and snowboard shops closing, Alpine Accessories became the first new ski and snowboard specialty shop to open in Chicago land in over 15 years! In the summer of 2008, remodeling was done to our store over the summer to accommodate more products, equipment and clothing. The summer of 2009 was spent on an all new web site Alpine Accessories.com which incorporates many new features now found on the throughout the internet.
Our biggest change came in the summer of 2011 when we expanded into the unit next to us doubling the size of our retail store and warehouse.
The summer of 2012 paddleboards were added to our product line. In addition lessons and rentals were offered at a small lake at Three Oaks Recreation Area in Crystal Lake.
Then in the summer of 2015 a paddleboarding lesson and rental center and storage building was built on the larger lake at Three Oaks Recreation Area City of Crystal Lake.
